Associate
Valan was raised in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, outside of Philadelphia. He earned his bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and philosophy from Allegheny College and then found his way to the University of Montana to pursue his B.A. in environmental philosophy. He then attended the University of Montana School of Law, graduating with honors in 2023. While in law school, Valan served as a managing editor on the Public Lands and Resources Law Review, interned with Montana Legal Services and a state agency, and performed his clinical internship with the Montana Department of Agriculture. After graduating law school, Valan clerked for Justice Laurie McKinnon of the Montana Supreme Court.
In his free time, Valan enjoys hiking, weightlifting, cooking, baking, and performing drag.
