Forrest was raised in Laurel, Montana. After graduating from Portland State University in Oregon, he returned to Montana to attend law school at the University of Montana. While in law school, Forrest interned with Boone Karlberg, completed a clinical internship with the Missoula County Attorney's Office, and was a member of the Montana Law Review and National Moot Court team.
Following law school, Forrest served as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Sam E. Haddon before returning to the firm. Forrest is also admitted to practice in the Blackfeet Tribal Court.
Forrest enjoys exploring Montana with his wife and two springer spaniels.
