Randy was raised on a cattle ranch on the Smith River in west-central Montana and graduated from Cascade High School. He joined Boone Karlberg in the fall of 1981. Since that time Randy has developed a statewide litigation practice, and has briefed and argued dozens of cases in the Montana Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Randy and his wife, Theresa, have raised their two sons and one daughter in Missoula and are active in various community projects, notably A Carousel for Missoula, one of the first fully hand-carved carousels built in the United States since the Great Depression.
