WILLIAM L. CROWLEY was born and raised in Billings, Montana.
He attended Montana State University, receiving a Bachelor of
Arts degree in political science in 1976. In 1979, Bill received
his Juris Doctor degree from Willamette University College of
Law. Bill spent a year as a law clerk for the Honorable John
Sheehy, Montana Supreme Court. In 1980, he joined the law firm
now known as Boone Karlberg.
Bill has more than 27 years of experience in trial work
involving a variety of types of cases, including civil rights,
professional negligence, products liability, bank bad faith and
negligence, insurance bad faith and general negligence cases.
Bill has tried cases in both the state and federal courts in
Montana. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals
for the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Bill holds an
“AV” rating in the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and is
listed in the 2007 edition of The Best Lawyers in America
in the specialty of municipal law.
Bill is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of
Montana, Western Montana Bar Association and Montana Defense
Trial Lawyers. In addition, he has been a member of the Board of
Directors and President of the Poverello Center, which provides
shelter, food and clothing to individuals and families in
western Montana. Bill also served as a member of the Board of
Directors and President of the Montana Eye Bank.
Bill and Debbie, his wife, have four children and one
grandchild. He and his family are active in various community
affairs, such as the Citizens' Law Enforcement Academy and the
American Indian Education Foundation Scholarship Committee.
