THOMAS H. BOONE
has practiced since 1966 with Boone Karlberg and its
predecessors in the areas of commercial transactions, estate
planning, probate, business organizations and planning, real
estate transactions, banking and tax matters. Presently, Tom is
the President of Boone Karlberg and for many years was the
managing partner of its predecessor.
Tom is a native of Missoula, Montana, and graduated with a
Bachelor of Arts degree (with honors) from Harvard College in
1962. Following his graduation from Harvard Law School in 1965,
Tom served as a law clerk to the Honorable A. J. Connor of the
United States District Court of New Hampshire.
Tom is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of
Montana and Western Montana Bar Association. He has been a
lecturer at the University of Montana School of Law and
was a member of its Board of Visitors. Tom also is a
co-author of two books with Gary Nygaard, “Law for Physical
Educators and Coaches” and “Coaches’ Guide to Sports Law.”
Tom was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Western
Montana Bar Association, the George F. Bousliman Professionalism
Award by the State Bar of Montana and the Neil S. Bucklew
Presidential Service Award by the University of Montana. Tom
holds an “AV” rating in the Martindale–Hubbell Law Directory and
for several years has been included in the listing of Best
Lawyers in America.
Tom is very active in community activities. He has served on
the Board of Trustees and as President of the University of
Montana Foundation, on the Boards of Directors and as President
of the Missoula Symphony Association, the Greater Missoula
Family YMCA and the United Way of Missoula County. Tom served as
President of the Missoula Parking Commission for nearly 20
years. Tom also serves on the Board of Directors of the
Missoula Performing Arts Center.
Tom and his wife, Ann, enjoy traveling, skiing, biking and
other recreational and sporting activities.
